About.com Guide to Judaism since 1999

Lisa Katz has been the About.com Guide to Judaism since 1999.

Experience:

Since 1994 Lisa has managed online sites that focus on Judaism, Jewish Culture and Israel (CompuServe 1994-1995, Microsoft Network 1995-1999, About.com 1999-present). In 1996, she produced the first Net chat with a major head of State, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, for MSNBC.

Lisa grew up in America with a mother from the Reform branch of Judaism and a father from the Conservative branch of Judaism, and later married an Orthodox Jew from Israel. As a result, Lisa brings to About.com a unique understanding of and sensitivity to the different ways Jews of various denominations, both in the Diaspora and Israel, view and practice Judaism.

Education:

Lisa attended Yale University from 1982-84, graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in economics and psychology in 1986, and earned a MBA from Ohio State University in 1993. She studied at the Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem and Hebrew University's Melton Center for Jewish Education.

From Lisa Katz:

Shalom! The About.com Judaism site aims to provide accurate, basic, helpful and interesting information about Judaism and Jewish Culture. I welcome everyone to come explore, exchange and enjoy!
